Many years ago, in the long-before times of elementary school, I wrote a Goal List for myself. Between “Get 500 Accelerated Reader Points” (which won me my own Walkman!) and “Marry a Good Husband,” I included the goal of “Write a Book.” I had no idea at the time how lofty that goal truly was, but I instinctively knew I wanted to be a writer even in those early years. I’ve dreamed for a long time about walking into a bookstore to find my own work sitting on the shelf. Praise the Lord, that dream will become a reality in June 2027 with the release of my debut novel, 53.
I love words – reading them, writing them, editing them. I also love wearing armor, swinging swords, and creating new costumes and gear. It should be no surprise then that my writing tends to lean toward fantasy. I also love the Lord Jesus Christ, and I want my stories to delve into deep questions of faith through my fantastical worlds.
If I’m not writing, I’m juggling life as a wife, mom, employee, and behind-the-scenes helper at church. I also have entirely too many crafty hobbies. Is there such a thing as too much yarn? Gosh, I hope not.
